There’s only 2 more weeks left for the pre-holiday shopping season and if you haven’t gotten anything for the woman of the house then you need to get on your job very quickly. If there’s anything else I know besides fashion, it’s Women (trust me on this one, I know Women!). When it comes to getting your lady a gift there are two important tips to remember:
1. Think about what you think she may want; not what you want her to have. Sure she likes lingerie, but she can buy that for herself as a gift to you.
and
2. Quantity before Quality. Didn’t get this one? Women love a diamond necklace and or earrings, but adore being showered with gifts. Get her a bag full of the simple things she likes along with that big gift you know she wanted.

IMG Fashion and ENK International are getting together again for their second season of men’s fashion week together in New York City. Invitations were sent out to designers to show during men’s market week this summer. The shows are scheduled to run from Monday, July 21, to Wednesday, July 23; concurrently running with ENK’s Blue and Collective trade show events on Pier 92. The show space is situated on Pier 92, behind ENK’s Blue show. The shows will seat approximately 240 people and have a 70-foot runway. “This is going to be a showcase for young, Hip Designers where the focus is truly on men’s wear. We think men’s week can be spectacular.” said Fern Mallis.
Last Season the shows were presented in the evening after the shows closed, but this season the shows will be presented throughout the day and in the evening. Four designers presented their collection at men’s fashion week last January and this year IMG and ENK are aiming for 10 to 12 shows. Two for the four brands that showed last season, Buckler and Conference of Birds, have already committed to show this July. “We’re not trying to start a revolution, but we’re making an evolution.” - Elyse Kroll

This Sunday, May 18th from 3pm-5pm Adam Lippes introduces Viktor Jondal’s EGO® Lego Lamp Collection for NY Design Week. Join them for coctails and meet the Designer. Jondal, a Swedish, New York-based product designer uses legos to contrast child like art with formal design. By doing so, he is hoping to revive the sense of creativity many of us had as children but outgrew as adults. Viktor Jondal’s EGO® Lego Lamp Collection is on display from Friday, May 16th – Sunday, May 18th.
