What She Wants

December 9th, 2008

There’s only 2 more weeks left for the pre-holiday shopping season and if you haven’t gotten anything for the woman of the house then you need to get on your job very quickly.  If there’s anything else I know besides fashion, it’s Women (trust me on this one, I know Women!).  When it comes to getting your lady a gift there are two important tips to remember:

1. Think about what you think she may want; not what you want her to have.  Sure she likes lingerie, but she can buy that for herself as a gift to you.

and

2. Quantity before Quality. Didn’t get this one?  Women love a diamond necklace and or earrings, but adore being showered with gifts.  Get her a bag full of the simple things she likes along with that big gift you know she wanted.

Check out the items below, this might get the shopping-for-her blood flowing.

DripStick Art for Sale

December 2nd, 2008

Looking for some warm art for your place? Or maybe a gift for a friend?  Trust in DripStick!  I stumbled upon the DripStick booth on the corner of Spring and West Broadway in SoHo, NYC a few nights ago with all these beautiful pieces of art that I felt would mix well with some I already have up and loved it.  This is a great gift for the art lovers, especially you indie art lovers.

DripStick is a small art based company in Brooklyn, NY. We are comprised of a handful of artists. All designs and images are from original work by DripStick artists. DripStick was founded on the belief that art should be within everyone’s reach. While DripStick is comprised of artists who know and appreciate the value of fine art, we do what we do because we believe that technology can do for art what it is already doing for music: making it accessible and affordable”.

Diddy’s new I Am King/Queen fragrance

November 22nd, 2008

I saw an advertisement for this and thought I would go a off the topic of fashion and express myself a little. In my opinion; Sean P. Diddy Combs is the man! I look up to this guy. He pimps the system, lives hard,  dresses exquisitely constantly challenges himself, he’s the life of any party and loves every minute of everything he does. The man is a walking Robb Report.

Ok, I’m done.

With all that being said; Diddy’s new ad campaign for his new Men’s and Women’s fragrances “I Am King/Queen” has been said to have a his small focus on the President Elect for his marketing strategies. Diddy told The Wall Street Journal When you see Barack Obama, you see a strong, elegant black man and when people see my ad, it’s almost like that’s the trend.“  the name is mainly inspired by the fact that every man is royal in his own way, respecting oneself and carrying oneself in a respectable manner makes any man king. The fragrance will be a Macy’s exclusive, expected to be a December 2008 release.

Note: Barack Obama will not be officially sponsoring the cologne in any way.

“Do it like Diddy do”.

Treat Kasteel Cru avec délicatesse

June 21st, 2008

Last weekend I stopped at this Luz a Nuevo Latino Resturaunt in Brooklyn and was highly reccomended by one of the waitresses try a French beer called Kasteel Cru, I couldn’t resist, so I tried it. I had a sip and it was light, clean and crispy. I called the waitress over and said to her “this isn’t beer! It tastes like champagne.” Then she mentioned to me that Kasteel Cru ferments Champagne Yeast into their brew which gives it a well balanced, crisp and elegant taste that anyone who appreciates fine dining will enjoy. I think I’m in love…

Brief info:
Brewed with water from les Vosges Mountains in Alsace, malted barley, choicest hops, and the extraordinary, inventive addition of Champagne yeast fermentation, Kasteel Cru is a deliciously crafted lager which combines strength with a lightness of touch. Perfectly inspired by the quest to capture the uniquely rich and diverse characteristics of France’s ‘petit jardin’ in a fine lager, the satisfying reward of a great beer body is introduced by the brightest, lively head and finished with the crisp, clean promise of more to come.

Altogether, Kasteel Cru adds a sparkle to the tradition of fine brewing.

The first taste delivers an immediate ‘zing’ from the carbonation, and a natural acidity is created by the special yeast during fermentation. This enhances the refreshing and moreish character of the beer. The low bitterness ensures that the mouth-feel is light; with a sweet-sour balance in the acidity, with little or no astringency – and a finish that is clean and crisp.
