Earnest Sewn Co. introduces Recession Proof with three Friends and Family Shopping events

Since I started toting around this beauty, both Men and Women have been stopping me to ask: Who makes your bag? How much did it cost? And, Where did you purchase it? So… I decided to post and share it with the online community that I am so happy to be a part of. DUBAI

Seems like alot of Shops are jumping into the Middle Eastern Retail Market, but Its only right that one of the most luxurious places in the world have one of the most luxurious retail shops in the world.  Saks Fifth Avenue has revieled their plans to open a men’s store in Dubai. The luxury New York-based retailer said the 15,000-square-foot store at The Walk at the Jumeirah Beach Residences will complement the existing 80,000-square-foot full-lne Saks store that opened in that city in 2004 and its Riyadh unit in Saudi Arabia that debuted in 2001.

The Dubai men’s store will have a similar mix as the Saks men’s stores in the U.S. but will be tweaked to appeal to the local market.

Men, Men, Men!!! Announcing yet another men’s only store. J. Crew is opening a Men’s Only shop this summer at 235 Broadway. The landmark building is formally known as the Liquor Store bar in Tribeca and in fact was once a liquor store. Also, it’s the only preserved landmark townhouse in the city zoned for the sale and distribution of alcohol.

I just received news about Hermes opening a Men’s-Only store on Madison Avenue directly across the street from the company’s existing New York City flagship at 691 Madison. The 6,000-square-foot boutique will carry the company’s entire assortment of Men’s merchandise ranging from ready-to-wear and accessories to lifestyle products. 45 percent of Hermes’ sales come from the men’s wear department, that goes to show you that we men are playing a big part in keeping the market up.

Ferragamo the Italian luxury goods company released it their plans yesterday to open 10 new stores in India by 2013–including three this year–after launching a joint venture with a local real estate company.  Ferragamo said the agreement with India’s DLF represented the opportunity to consolidate its presence in a “strategic” and “high growth potential” market.

“We are confident that the new joint venture with a prestigious group like DLF… can help further establish our brand in [India]… and strengthen and grow its presence in an important way via direct retail,” Ferragamo chief executive officer Michele Norsa said in a statement.

This year’s units are slated for Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai.

It wasn’t too long ago that French Connection was selling controversial fcuk-logo T-shirts to every self-proclaimed bad boy in America, but starting this fall the U.K.-based retailer is hoping to become known for a decidedly more mature garment: the suit. 

“Our British heritage speaks to a refined and sophisticated point of view,” says French Connection U.S. president Andrea Hyde of the company’s first suit line. “It was time to bring our men’s wear to that level.”
That company has been trading up since its fcuk days, injecting clean wovens, trousers and soft sport coats into the mix. But launching clothing marks a new level of refinement in the retailer’s assortment, and signals increasing interest among consumers for more gentlemanly clothing for both work and play.

French Connection is not alone. Retailers from J. Crew to Club Monaco are giving more space to dressier looks in response to their shoppers’ evolving tastes. “Gone are the days of business casual,” declares Lisa Axelson, Club Monaco’s senior vice-president of design. “Men today are interested in looking smarter, more dapper and more put together than ever before.”
