Definitely what I’m looking for in a smartphone.  I might have to take this Nokia for a test run.

“The next generation “smartdevice” packs a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard and a tilting 3.5-inch, 640 x 360 pixel touch screen with subtle haptic feedback. A massive 32GB of memory allows you to unlimited record 30fps DVD-quality videos with the 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss glassed camera. Coming to the connecting abilities, the N97 surfs with HSDPA or Edge services, WiFi or Bluetooth and offers up to 320 minutes of talktime or 400 hours of standby time from a single charge.”

T-mobile to offer Message and Call blocking

May 20th, 2008

Remember the class action suit against T-mobile regarding unwanted messaging charges?  Well T-mobile has answered by creating a system to block messaging.  But why stop there? Lets take this all the way to calls too! While details from our sources are still a bit fuzzy, TmoNews can confirm this is all in the works. Now there seems to be multiple levels of this.  The general level will allow users to block SMS through a call to Customer Care, or in T-mobile stores.  This general phase will still let through system SMS, Voicemail notifications, and OTA updates. Neither the general, nor advanced phases will be able to block internet-based IM or E-mail, or Danger’s messaging services.  The more advanced version, which we haven’t confirmed yet, will allow users to block the following:

  • ALL SMS
  • ALL MMS
  • ALL E-mail
  • ALL IMs
  • Everything (Except free T-mobile SMS, Voicemail, and OTA updates)

10 Reasons You KNOW You’re a Blackberry Addict

May 19th, 2008

Several people have put their take on this:

1. When upon immediately waking up in the morning, the first thing on your mind is your Blackberry. (you wonder how it is, if it slept well, etc.)

2. When taking a shower is stressful, because you can’t take your Blackberry with you. (well, you can but it wouldn’t be a good idea)

3. When you scowl at those signs in doctor’s offices that say, ‘All Cell Phones MUST be Turned Off’ (yes, we can still do email and browse the web – but we hate those signs anyway)

4. When, if we have young kids, we say to them: ‘Don’t touch my Blackberry, don’t look at my Blackberry…heck, don’t even THINK about my Blackberry’ for the simple reason we don’t want anything (not even potential bad thoughts) to happen to our baby, ie Blackberry.

5. When you get anxious seeing that little red light blinking indicating there’s a new message and can’t immediately check it because – darn it! – somebody or something needs your undivided attention at that exact moment. The nerve!

6. When your significant other says something bad about your Blackberry and it actually hurts your feelings.

7. When we leave that significant other over their dislike of our Blackberry. (hey, if they can’t accept my Blackberry, they can’t accept ME!)

8. When you take your tax money and buy the newest Blackberry with it instead of putting it towards your kid’s much needed braces.

9. When you have nightmares of something bad happening to your Blackberry.

10. When you can’t ever imagine the rest of your life without a Blackberry in it.
