Sean P. Diddy Combs did the damn thing with the Sean John sketches for the President-Elects Inauguration day (January 20th) attire.  Out of all the sketches this is one of my favorite.  I think the Classic Single-Button White Dinner Jacket, White Shirt, Black Bow-tie, Pocket Square and Trousers are killer.  See all of the Inauguration Sketches on the New WWD Men’s Website.

2. Quantity before Quality. Didn’t get this one?  Women love a diamond necklace and or earrings, but adore being showered with gifts.  Get her a bag full of the simple things she likes along with that big gift you know she wanted.

DUBAI

Seems like alot of Shops are jumping into the Middle Eastern Retail Market, but Its only right that one of the most luxurious places in the world have one of the most luxurious retail shops in the world.  Saks Fifth Avenue has revieled their plans to open a men’s store in Dubai. The luxury New York-based retailer said the 15,000-square-foot store at The Walk at the Jumeirah Beach Residences will complement the existing 80,000-square-foot full-lne Saks store that opened in that city in 2004 and its Riyadh unit in Saudi Arabia that debuted in 2001.

The Dubai men’s store will have a similar mix as the Saks men’s stores in the U.S. but will be tweaked to appeal to the local market.

Mr. Saint Laurent achieved instant fame in 1958 at the age of 21 when he showed his Trapeze collection, his first for Christian Dior following the master’s death. But unlike many overnight sensations, Mr. Saint Laurent managed to remain at the top of his profession as fashion changed, from an emphasis on formal, custom-made haute couture to casual sportswear.

Yves Saint Laurent passed away on Sunday in Paris. He was 71. The announcement was made by the Pierre-Berge-Saint Laurent Foundation, but the cause of death was not immediately released.

I just received news about Hermes opening a Men’s-Only store on Madison Avenue directly across the street from the company’s existing New York City flagship at 691 Madison. The 6,000-square-foot boutique will carry the company’s entire assortment of Men’s merchandise ranging from ready-to-wear and accessories to lifestyle products. 45 percent of Hermes’ sales come from the men’s wear department, that goes to show you that we men are playing a big part in keeping the market up.

Ferragamo the Italian luxury goods company released it their plans yesterday to open 10 new stores in India by 2013–including three this year–after launching a joint venture with a local real estate company.  Ferragamo said the agreement with India’s DLF represented the opportunity to consolidate its presence in a “strategic” and “high growth potential” market.

“We are confident that the new joint venture with a prestigious group like DLF… can help further establish our brand in [India]… and strengthen and grow its presence in an important way via direct retail,” Ferragamo chief executive officer Michele Norsa said in a statement.

This year’s units are slated for Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai.

Nike introduced the much anticipated Nike Sportswear line recently in Beijing, China, with an exhibition that included eight iconic products including the Air Force 1, the Windrunner, AW 77 Hoody, the Nike Dunk, Air Max 90, Eugene Track Jacket, the Cortez, and NSW Tee. The exhibition also included installations by highly celebrated artist, Robert Wilson, and producer, Noah Khoshbin.
