This one was unveiled at an auto show in oil-rich Dubai, most probably to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Mercedes Benz SL550. There’s no info if the diamonds are genuine or fake, but real or not, this car’s price tag is certainly written in figures that only people the likes of the Sultan of Brunei or Paris Hilton can comprehend.  This one was unveiled at an auto show in oil-rich Dubai, most probably to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Mercedes Benz SL550. By the way, the car costs $4.8 Million and it belongs to Prince Alwaleed from Saudi Arabia.  If you wanted to touch it at the show, you had to pay $1000.  That’s almost as ridiculous as Micheal charging the kids in Japan money for a handshake.

The Ferrari F430 GT California is intended to follow the demanding visual message the Prancing Horse emits, a sporty designed powerful but versatile vehicle for a spectrum of occasions. A 4.3-liter V8 produces 460 horsepowers and will ensure its roots racing tradition while accelerating from zero to 60 in under 4 seconds. To expand the driving excitement the California will be shifted by a ultra smooth shifting 7-speed dual clutch gearbox and the driving will be additionally secured by the F1-Trac traction control system. The car’s design roots obviously lay in the original 60’s 250 GT California smoothly blended with modern accents.

The California is Ferrari’s first retractable hardtop convertible. The hardtop convertible is powered by Ferrari’s 4.3-liter V8, producing 460 horsepower. It is not known for sure if Ferrari will market the car as the Ferrari California or the Ferrari F430 GT as recent trademark filing suggested. Only time will tell when the car goes on display at the Paris International Car Show in October.

Are you or someone you know complaining about Gas Prices? Unless individuals take action to break their dependency on oil, prices will only continue to rise. Economies are growing rapidly and becoming industrialized across the globe, feeding the demand for oil. While the demand increases, supply doesn’t seem to be following suit. Many experts estimate that oil production will reach it’s global peak by the year 2020. I did some digging and found a list of good tips for saving money on gas. Every little bit counts now a days.

1. Walk – You actually thought I was going to start this off with a good tip? Who in the world wants to walk? Well that’s exactly the attitude we all (including myself) need to lose. Try getting some exercise; walk or ride a bike to run errands that are only a few blocks away.

2. Compare Prices – Using GasBuddy, you can compare prices from over 100,000 stations. You can even use them to receive the latest prices via text message.

3. Use Your Credit Card – Many credit card companies, offer cards that provide cash rebates for gas purchases.

4. Don’t Use Your Credit Card – Yes, I know I’m contradicting myself. Some gas stations are starting to charge extra for using credit cards, to cover merchant fees.

5. Thank A Grocery Store Clerk – Fill out the form and sign up for their loyalty program. Some grocery stores offer gas savings for being a member.

6. Use the Right Octane – Using a higher octane gas than recommended in the owner’s manual, offers no benefit. Again, no benefit.

7. Clean Out Your Car – According to the Federal Trade Commission, “an extra 100 pounds in the trunk can reduce fuel economy by up to 2%.” Be sure to take out the bowling ball in your back seat.

8. Public Transportation – Bus, train, or subway.

9. Carpool – Not only do you save gas money, but you may also qualify to drive in the HOV (high-occupancy vehicle) lane. Wave goodbye to the suckers stuck in traffic!

10. Combine Errands – Instead of going to the grocery store, going back home, and then picking up your friend later on in the day, only to drive by the grocery store again on the way back; why not tell your buddy he’s going to work for his ride…by helping you carry groceries.

11. Check Your Tires – Make sure they are propery aligned and inflated.

The new limited edition Mercedes-Benz SL 63 that’s being produced in conjunction with Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen. Only 200 will be made, and each features the first application of a new white paint finish dubbed designo magno Kashmir.  All 200 owners of the SL 63 AMG Edition IWC will also get a limited edition example of IWC’s “Grosser Ingenieur” watch. Though my desensitized retinas see plain old white where others see shades of Pearl and Egg Shell, there’s no denying this brilliant veneer looks like a million bucks on the SL 63 AMG. Contrast that with the matte black finish of other components on the car’s exterior, and you’ve got the world’s most expensive Storm Trooper. Tobago Brown nappa leather will cradle your bum in the AMG sport seats while your feet fall on special black floormats that are one of about a dozen interior surfaces emblazoned with the AMG logo. The rest is pretty much standard SL 63 AMG fare, if you can call anything about this 525-hp convertible standard with a straight face.
