When I saw this I felt that I had to share this with the fellas. The World famous fashion designer Hedi Slimane who has become best known for his stellar work at Dior Homme has taken an active role in photography as witnessed by his ongoing blog. John Varvatos opens his store this weekend at 315 Bowery, the address you may formally know as CBGB’s. The shop will not only have the designer’s lines but, will also have vinyl records, along with vintage-seventies hi-fi equipment (for said records) for sale, and it even has the retains of many of the space’s iconic features. Toward that end, CBGB’s walls remain as they were, cram full with stickers and graffiti. “We’re not reopening CBGB, and we’re not trading off the name,” John Varvatos says. “When the club closed, the choices were it was either going to become a deli or a Bank of America. This way, it’s like keeping a piece of history.” There’s a new, smaller stage for monthly performances from up-and-coming musicians, too. Varvatos is also launching a limited-edition specialty line, 315 Bowery, to be carried at the store in the fall. “It’s intact,” he says. “When you’re in there, you feel like you’re in a club.”
