Nike has unveiled its Chinese Federation uniforms for the Olympic games, including footwear and apparel.  The sportswear firm, which worked with Chinese athletes, the Chinese Olympic Committee, and 22 of the 28 sport federations to design the products, said it had combined heritage with performance innovations.

Nike president and CEO Mark Parker said: This is some of the best work we’ve ever done. From BMX to Track and Field, athletes like Liu Xiang inspire us to create our best and most innovative product.”

Key products include a Nike Swift suit using recycled polyester, a Taekwondo uniform and footwear using lightweight Flywire technology fibres and Lunarlite foam.

In addition, Nike also unveiled its Nike Sportswear product line to coincide with the Beijing games.

Nike Sportswear launches fully in August with eight products – the Air Force 1, the Windrunner, AW 77 Hoody, the Nike Dunk, Air Max 90, Eugene Track Jacket, the Cortez and NSW Tee.

Nike Sportswear is one of six categories where the company expects 75% of future growth, it said.

In China, Nike said it is the leading sportswear brand, with a retail presence in more than 300 cities. China is also Nike’s largest sourcing country and its largest business outside the US.
